Wanna know an instance of the Holy Spirit taking over? The past few days I've been telling myself I don't want to/ I'm not going to go to church because I have too much work and I need my sleep Sunday morning, otherwise I will be too tired to do my projects and other stuff on Sunday. So at the logical break between finishing my thought on a paper and going to eat dinner I call my neighbors to tell them I won't be needing a ride. Well, the phone rings for about 20 seconds and then goes to answering machine. And then I say I need a ride. WHAT THE HEAVEN??? Crazy..The Holy Spirit only needed 20 seconds to act and take over.

I really cannot stand some of my classmates sometimes. Nothing in this world makes me stressed, unless I'm around stressed people. People need to take a chill pill. We've got this 10% midterm and people are freaking out over it, stressing out, worrying, blah blah. 10% and people are spending 8+ hours studying for it. not an efficient use of time given the weight of the exam and the amount of time studying for it. people seriously need to relax. at first people thought it was a california thing, me being so relaxed. but there are 5 other UC people in my program and they are nowhere like me in their study habits, and at this point in the year everyone's deduced that its just me like this. people were going crazy over lunch about what to study for. can't a guy eat lunch in peace? enjoy your food, take that 20 minute break, then worry about/resume studying. i told people i was just gonna study by flipping through the book. yes, literally, just flipping the pages of the book back. people were freaked out and disgusted. i don't consider myself smart, and i'm sure none of my readers do either. just blessed to be in grad school, haha. but honestly, people need to relax. you'll live longer. okay, time to start flipping thru the book; study by visual osmosis. the pictures will jump back out at me while i am taking the test. i assure you.

The floor at my house is pretty slippery and i always lose my balance so i finally got around to buying a walker to help me stabilize when going down the long hallways. isn't this so cool? it's perfect because its even got a little tray that i can set my dinner on and watch tv, haha.

JUST KIDDING!

But I did encounter a walker! They are so few and far between that when you do meet one it's auto camaraderie. I went to church this morning and met this other new person. It was great because here I was new myself. Sitting by myself, wondering as always how long I would be there sitting alone by myself. But I wasn't bothered by it as much because it was the second week I had been there and the people all seemed really friendly. I just had to wait for someone to show up. So finally a couple showed up but they went straight to setting up refreshments. So I waited and wondered if there would be another new person coming. And not a few minutes later a girl walks in who I had not seen in the sunday school last week. First off, everyone's a lil older, actually much older, than me so that's why I automatically recognized her, not solely because she was female. lol.

So anyways I walk over to introduce myself and I find out that she's a Brazilian exchange student, just arrived five days ago. I asked her how she came to church and she said she walked! yes! amazing! actually, she didn't walk the whole way. she told me she started walking and then later on her host father was driving and saw her from the road and gave her a lift to church. but if not for that she would have walked. and walked all the way in the rain. and it's not pleasant walking in nj even for short distances. they don't have sidewalks everywhere as you'd come to expect in ca, and inter-neighborhood they are non-existent. so i was quite impressed that she would walk all the way to a new church in the rain, where she doesn't know anyone.

yea, she's got her priorities straight. fresh off the boat and already looking for a church. gimme some o' that. hehehe. so now i've grown up in ca as a christian, where it's not exactly cool to be one. been in the south where everyone calls themself a christian. and now in the the northeast where people don't give a hoot what you call yourself. what's next? the wind howls... it's scary. i'd be peeing in my pants a night if i were a little kid.
